Sister Spotlight: Mol Nawawattanasub

Our Sister Spotlight for the Month of August is Beta Chapter's very own, Tipa "Mol" Nawawattanasub. Mol is being groomed as a successor her parents, who founded and run YLG Bullion International, Thailand's biggest gold trader. She is the CEO of YLG Bullion & Futures which is a brokerage unit. After Mol graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, she attend the University of Kent in the United Kingdom for an M.B.A., and following that, a masters in political science from Ramkamhaeng University.

Mol has received numerous awards over the past few years, winning Forbes Youngest Asia Business Women Award in 2012. Most recently she listed as one of Forbes Asia "Power Businesswomen to Watch for 2014," and this month she is featured on the August 2015 issue of Prestige Magazine. After congratulating Mol on her recent accomplishments, we wanted to find out a bit of what has driven her to succeed.

1. If you could turn back time and go back to when you first graduated college, what advice would you give to yourself?

"Nothing... because there are so many things that happened back then. Both good and bad experiences taught me and made me become who I am today. If I go back and fix bad experiences, then I will never learn. There were a lot of good experiences when I was an exchange student at UT, including being part of ASR which I still remember now. Thank you ASR for letting us (Me and Mine[another Beta chapter alumna]) be a part of the family."

2. What is your favorite place you have traveled to?

"My favourite place is in Thailand, especially Phuket, because I love the sea. It is quite peaceful there."

3. What advice would you give to sisters wanting to excel in a position predominantly held by men?

"1. Do your best. 2. Love what you do. 3. Believe in yourself."

4. Why did you decide to become the successor to your parents company instead of choosing another career path?

"Why do you need to choose since you can do both? You can be a successor and also do other things by yourself. It [Career] depends on how you will manage your time and resources."

5. Any hobbies or interests?

"Traveling, Reading, and Meditating."

Thank you Mol for taking time out of your busy schedule to check-in with us! We can't wait to see how much more you will accomplish.
